The Magal (day of prayer and remembrance) of Serigne Massamba Mbacké
The Magal (day of prayer and remembrance) of Serigne Massamba Mbacké, younger brother of Sheikh Ahmadou Bamba will be celebrated on Wednesday 19 August 2009, 27 Sha'ban 1430 H.
His dedication to Cheikhoul Khadim was such that it will stop at any difficulty to carry out its instructions. For him, all the wishes of Sheikh are feasible.
As noted above, Serigne Massamba had not known his father. Serigne Touba has fully supported his brother since early childhood. Moreover Serigne Massamba liked hard to say:
"All I know, I hold of Serigne Touba, I'm what he wanted me to be."
Ramadan is Approaching
The Month of Ramadan is upon us. During this special time, we should all reflect on the many blessings God has bestowed upon us. Those of us who live here in the West have been blessed with many material bounties that are unimaginable to many of our co-religionists in the East. The amount of food we enjoy and unfortunately the amount that many of us waste, the expansiveness of most of our homes, our ready ability to own cars, trucks, and vans, our easy access to higher education, our ability to marry at a young age, all of these blessings and many others are incomprehensible to many Muslims in faraway lands struggling to live from day to day.
Magal of Daru Muhty, August 7th ,2009

Many agree on the date of birth of Mame Thierno Birahim Mbacke in Prokhane, on Thursday 15th of the Lunar month of “Rabbi al Awwal” in the “Charfadi” year i.e. 1283 H., 1863 A.D.
The day has come again, to celebrate Cheikh Ahmadou Bamba Mbacke day in Raleigh. We will start the event with an exposition on Life and Legacy of the Cheikh at the Raleigh Convention Center and hold a conference in the evening, click on the read article for more details.
Omar Ibn Said spent much of his life as a slave on a Bladen County plantation, but some claimed he was reared as a Muslim prince in Africa.
At the evocation of Shaykh Abdul Qadr Mbacke, the forth caliph of Murids from 1989 to 1990 a shared sense stands: bitterness. The Murid community cannot depart from the feeling, conviction that it has been deprived too soon of a foster father so generous in favours, and benefits of all kinds.
